FIRST Robotics is an international organization dedicated to transorming the culture to inspire students to be leaders in science and technology. 

 

FIRST was founded in 1989 to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology. Based in Manchester, NH, the 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit public charity designs accessible, innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math, while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills.

 

The founder and inpsiration for FIRST Is Dean Kamen, inventor, entrepreneur, and tireless advocate  for science and technology.

FRC Flash 1319 is a high school robotics team based in Greenville, SC. We started in 2004 with a few students from Mauldin and Hillcrest high schools. Since then we have expanded our numbers and now welcome students from all over the county. 

 

We were originally known as the Golden Strip Flash because of our location within the Golden Strip area. Over time we have shortened our name, perfected our image, and we are now known widely as Flash 1319. 

 

Our mentors incude industry professionals, teachers, and parents within the community. Almost all of our students have pursued higher education, often in STEM related fields. We have had alumni move onto careers with ExxonMobil, GE, Michelin, Infor, and many other technology related companies! We have also had students join the service where they receive STEM related educational opportunities.
